Worship and Music Ministry Team
The act of Worship takes many hands. Along with joining this team to assist with worship and music planning, you may consider one of the several other components required on a weekly (or bi-weekly) basis.

Altar Care
• Two sacraments of the church, Communion and Baptism, are cared for and served by the Altar Care Team in partnership with the Pastors. This service is behind the scenes and a significant need for our worship. The Altar Care Team prepares the altar and communion elements for the worship service, and cares for cleaning and storing the communion ware after worship has ended. The Altar Care Team considers it a joy and blessing to serve the Lord in this special way.

Communion Servers and Pastor’s Assistant
• Those who serve communion are crucial members of the entire communion team who volunteer on Sunday mornings. The Pastor Assistant is helpful when one pastor is presiding at the service. That person assists the pastor by serving the bread, while the Communion Assistants assist with serving the wine/grape juice. What an honor and privilege to offer our fellow believers “the body and blood of Christ, given and shed for you” You will be blessed by serving the Lord in either or both of these volunteer areas.

Other Worship Assistants

• Lector—reads the Lessons / Gospel for the day
• Ushers—Welcome members and friends to worship, assist with guiding visitors through the building, assist in finding seating, help with the offering, dismissal, communion, hearing devices and more
• Sound Board—Mixing sound and recording our services is vital for our members and worshiping friends to have a positive experience as they worship on Sunday
• Seamstress/Embroidery—occasionally sew, do banner and garment repairs and embroider as needed
• Calligrapher—Use your talents to letter formal documents such as Baptismal and Confirmation certificates
• Information Desk—Greet members and worshiping friends on Sunday morning. Provide information to visitors
• Seasonal Emphasis—volunteers are the link to making sure our church home is all dressed up for holidays and special events that come along


Wedding Committee (subgroup of Worship Ministry Team)

• Liaisons coordinate between the church and bridal couples to ensure a smooth and joyful wedding day.


Contemporary Worship Team (subgroup of Worship Ministry Team)

• Contemporary Christian music provides spiritual food to many members, friends, and visitors of MLC. If you have contemporary instrumental or vocal skills, there may be a place for you in the band. Please contact the director of the worship team.
