Benevolence Team
Mission Partner and Benevolence Team provides ways for MLC to partner in mission and reach out to others in need of assistance. We encourage Christian concern and support of others locally, regionally, and nationally, and in partnership with Synod and the ELCA. MP&B provides educational opportunities to enhance MLC’s understanding of the spiritual and social needs and opportunities to serve in our communities and throughout the world.
Opportunities exist at many levels of commitment. Volunteers can be the lead liaison between MLC and a mission partner, join a team supporting a mission partner, be on call for occasional projects, or join the ministry team in providing leadership for our relationships with our mission partners.
LOCAL MISSION PARTNERS
Families Moving Forward, www.familiesmovingforward.org. Provides temporary, emergency shelter and supportive services to low-income families with children.
ICA, www.icafoodshelf.org. Provides food and financial assistance to our neighbors in need in the west metro.
Lutheran Social Services, www.lssmn.org. Expresses the love of Christ for all people through acts of service.
Make Old Things New. Supports, educates and encourages healing and transformation for persons in recovery who wish to build a Christ-centered foundation for life.
Meals on Wheels, www.meals-on-wheels.com. Provides home-delivered meals to people in need

Our Savior’s Housing, www.oshousing.org. Provides emergency and transitional housing and meals to homeless men in south Minneapolis.
Plymouth Christian Youth Center, www.pcyc-mpls.org. Enriches the skills, prospects and spirit of North Minneapolis youth and adults.
Sojourner, www.sojournerproject.org. Provides support and shelter to women and children who are victims of domestic violence.
West Metro Grief Support Group. Provides support and education for persons who are experiencing grief and loss.
West Suburban Teen Clinic, www.westsuburbanteenclinic.org. Promotes the physical, social and emotional well-being of adolescents through health care and education.
ZOOM House, www.thezoomhouse.org. Provides affordable and transitional housing.
INTERNATIONAL MISSION PARTNERS
ELCA, www.elca.org. World Hunger and Disaster Appeal partners with organizations around the globe to help communities end hunger.
Lutheran World Relief, www.lwr.org. Our contribution joins that of 66 million Lutherans around the world helping impoverished areas through relief, development, advocacy and social responsibility.
Healthcare Bangladesh, www.lhcb.org. Provides hope and healthcare to the women and children of southern Bangladesh.
