Minnetonka Lutheran Church
Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota has been caring for people in the community for nearly 150 years, and youth experiencing homelessness is one of the most vulnerable populations they serve with our donations. Nearly 1,800 youth find themselves homeless every night in Minnesota. Every child in Minnesota deserves a safe and stable home. LSS Homeless Youth Services strive to help these youth get off the streets and into a safe environment through a continuum of services. Their goal is to make certain these youth know they are important, cared for, and have a place to turn for safety, dignity and hope.
Learn more about the issues facing homeless youth and how you can make a difference by attending one of our weekly metro homeless youth site tours. Although the tours show one of the three types of facilities, the information given is the same for every tour. The 3 facilities are:
Safe House, an overnight emergency shelter for single youth ages 16-20.
Rezek House, transitional housing for youth, 16-21 years of age, who are currently homeless.
LifeHaven, short-term housing for minor mothers and their children who are experiencing homelessness.
All tours are from noon-1:00. To sign up for a tour contact Kathryn S. at 952-412-5067 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Also let me know if you can provide a ride or need a ride.
